Computer to Vehicle Applications

With the trend of greater and greater interconnectedness and communication between our mobile and home electronics devices, it is just a matter of time before automobiles are the next frontier.

Our cars are becoming much more than just driving machines. They house sophisticated infotainment systems and are our information hubs on the road. Since most people spend time in their vehicles for work commutes and business travel, being able to access information or have access to information while on the road is an increasingly sought after benefit.

At the Volkswagen Electronics Research Laboratory, we are exploring the future of communication and information exchange between car and home computer. Our research encompasses identifying use cases for such applications, prototyping and testing the latest technologies to enable these applications, and the designing the usability and human factors involved in how an individual would interact with them. We tie all of these areas of research together in order to offer the best, most complete customer experience possible.
